yeah this whole list has gone Ae crazy. So many people who went to that gig agreed with my thoughts on Squarepusher - blips and stops and starts. Ok he had trouble with the sound system but...... Mike Ladd really rocked it. Last night went to see New Flesh (who didnt come on till 2am by which time I was ready for bed) but Ram:Ell:Zee - he of Be Bop and Wild Style old skool days came out in what could only be described as beyond George clinton insane outfit dressed like a cross between a Japanese no dancer and an alien from Star Wars or Star Trek & did this incredible idm set scarier than anything Anti-pop Consortium could ever come up with. This is an original inspiration. This guy must be at least in his 40's and he pranced around the stage with these white gloves on with black nails at the end bat like wings and black and white leopard skin spots - the hip hop crowd were left with gaping jaws as the sound was definitely a cross between old Cybotron Techno City and a Halloween horror flick. Most outrageous 15 minutes I've seen this year.... Ok, I'm off to Si Beggs Noodles party tonite if my pot noodle membership comes in and DJ Spooky/Arto Lindsay Sunday night... Lets keep it Fresh on the list - Warp (much as I love them, and much as everyone says the new single is brill) arent the only label, Ae arent the only artist in the world.. And Mike Ladd did rock, Fuck the Majessticons, Long live the Infesticons, and if the list doesnt know what I'm talking about they should get out of Wonderland for a day.
